Personal History
Michael was born on Earth in the state of New York on April 14, 2235. Attending public school for his primary schooling he graduated in the middle of his class in 2253 at the age of 18. He applied for starfleet academy to begin attending that fall but was not accepted. He was however accepted to begin attending fall of the next year 2254.
He arrived the fall after Kirk's graduation and beating of the Kobayashi Maru scenario which was still talked about on campus when he arrived in the fall. While at the academy he selects a major of security and a minor of command. During the second semester of his sophmore year he met and became friends with Hikaru Sulu in a science class that Michael was taking as a requirement and because Sulu, a freshman at the time, was taking as part of his cariculum. The two remain in contact to this day. In 2258 he does a tour on the Enterprise under the command of Captain Pike as part of his field study or internship. He graduates in 2358 in the upper third of his class.
From May 2258 through November of the year he does his post Academy leave on Earth to relax and spend time with his family. He was then assigned to the USS Potemkin as a Security Officer. He rose through the ranks quickly and in 2266 he was reassigned to the Hood to be the Security Chief and a few months later got Lieutenant Commander. Seven months after his promotion he was made Second Officer. After two years and eight months on the Hood he was named the Exeter's First Officer doubling as Security Chief after the ill fated mission under Captain Tracey. He is to officially report Jan 2, 2269 when the ship is relaunched after a minor refit and getting a whole new crew.
